Shaikevitch (Shomer), Nahum Meir
(1849-1905)
   Russian Yiddish novelist and dramatist. Born in Nesvizh, Belorussia, he settled in Pinsk. He wrote Hebrew short stories and longer narratives, as well as about 200 Hebrew lyrics. Later he moved to Vilna, where he wrote novels of suspense, and plays for the Yiddish stage. His plays were produced in the US, where he settled in 1889.
